Technical requirements for sealing rings

O-type rubber sealing ring is one of the most commonly used sealing rings at present. Many people are not very clear about the various performance and technical requirements such as sealing ring material and hardness when making choices.

Since rubber is an elastic material, it will deform under load, especially in the case of high pressure, the sealing ring will be squeezed into the sealing gap, which will affect the floating and cause the sealing failure. Therefore, the hardness and cross-sectional diameter of the o-type rubber sealing ring should be reasonably selected according to the operating pressure. Generally, the sealing ring with higher hardness is selected at high pressure, and the sealing ring with lower hardness is selected at low pressure. The hardness of the commonly used rubber O-ring rubber sealing ring is Shore 70±5.

The mold parting surface of the O-ring used in the manufacture of machine Seals can bypass the inner and left sides of the excavation working surface as much as possible. Generally, a 45° mold release is selected to ensure excellent sealing performance. The cross-sectional specifications should be symmetrical. The surface of the O-type rubber sealing ring must be smooth and level, and there should be no defects such as unevenness, bubbles, and residues.

Therefore, when choosing an O-type rubber sealing ring, it is required to be determined according to its own working conditions. If it is difficult to choose by yourself, you can consult the sealing ring manufacturer.
